Sandtimer is a British folk-rock duo formed by musicians Robert Sword and Simon Thomas. Featuring close vocal harmonies and intricate, Appalachian-influenced guitar textures, Sandtimer's music combines innovative, leftfield ideas with classic songcraft to create something at once edgy and familiar. Sandtimer released their first EP, Different Seas, with Folkstock Records in 2015, followed by Mackerel at the end of 2016. Their recordings have been played on stations including BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Wales and a whole host of independent radio stations, attracting high praise from BBC Wales's Frank Hennessey and BBC Introducing's Melita Dennett. As a performing duo they have toured the UK acoustic circuit frequently and ventured abroad to west Canada for their first tour in 2016.
